Home to Dr Nate Green (Pediatrics)

and, often, some very special guests.

Call us:

416-924-7171

Fax: 416-923-9015

Note: the phone is always busy from 8am-9am so please call for sick visits either the night before, before 8am or after 9am!

We are working on updating our phone system but it is not a simple task.

Location:

90 Warren Rd.

Main floor.

Entrance is on the West side of Warren Rd.

You can see our "colorful kites" on the windows of our office across the street from the beautiful Timothy Eaton Church on the North Side of St Clair West just East from Winston Churchill Park at Spadina and St Clair.

Appointments: There is no "walk-in" availability.

We have two types of appointments - sick and well.

Sick visits are quick (about 5 minutes) and for immediate concerns like a sore throat or a fever and cough. Well visits are for "checkups".

Clinic hours:

We see sick visits M-F from about 10:30 to 12 noon.

YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE A VISIT - no "walk-ins".

We see well visits in the afternoons from 2pm through 3:30pm.

1pm to 2pm is reserved for babies <2y.

Every weekend (with very few exceptions), we have coverage at least one day. Please call the office and listen to the voicemail for instructions.

Parking can be difficult:

after 10am there is parking on the East side of Warren Rd.

Otherwise, there is parking on the North side of St Clair.

The church is very strict and we DO NOT recommend parking at the church. They issue official city tickets for $75.

Annual Fee

Most of the services provided at the clinic are covered by OHIP. In fact everything that you would consider "medical care"(i.e. evaluation of your complaint, diagnosis and treatment recommendations), is covered. Many things are not covered, such as notes, forms, prescriptions without visits, referrals without visits. These items can all be paid for on a case-by-case basis, but many families choose to pay an annual "block" fee.

We are very grateful to all of the families that participate in the annual fee program.

Clinic Policies

1. New Patients
Currently, we are only accepting first-born newborns with few exceptions.

We may, depending on our current patient load, be able to accept an older patient every once in a while, but this will generally be limited to children under 3 years old.

We do, however, take our civic duty very seriously.

If you have a medically-complicated child and need a medical home, please contact us and we can evaluate your situation on a case-by-case basis.

2. Clinic Rules - including No-show

Patients who no-show without 24-hours notice will be subject to a $60 fee. Upon payment of this fee, we can reschedule your visit. If you need evaluation for a pressing medical condition, we can see for sick visits (i.e. quick visit), but for check-ups and routine care, we will require payment of outstanding fees.

Otherwise, our only clinic rule is to treat our Nurses with respect and be patient with us as we try to provide excellent care for all of our patients.

3. Prescription refills

Refilling prescriptions is more complicated than it may seem at first glance. It requires opening the chart, confirming the medication and then communicating with the Pharmacist to ensure that the correct medication is dispensed. Prescriptions and refills written during a visit are covered by OHIP. However, if you need refills without a visit, that will incur a $25 fee.

I always try to write for multiple refills any time I write a recurring medication. However, many medications require monitoring and follow-up. See the following list for generally recommended follow-up times for various conditions:

Anaphylaxis / allergy - at least every 3-6 months

Asthma - every 1-3 months initially, then 6 months when well-managed

Acne - every 3-6 months

ADHD - every 2-3 months early; every 6 months when well-managed

Constipation - 2 weeks, 4 weeks, every 3-4 months while concerns persist

Eczema - frequently at first; every 6 months when controlled

4. Booking a Visit

For now and the foreseeable future, all of our booking is done by telephone through our front desk. Please contact us at 416-924-7171 and leave a message with just your name and number. Our line is always busy between 8am - 9am Monday thru Friday.

5. Payment for non-OHIP-covered services

The easiest way to pay for non-OHIP-covered services is through our partner at kidsoncall.com/payments. Otherwise, credit card, cheque or e-transfer.

As a last resort, cash is ok.

Our site is hosted by kidsoncall.com

I am happy to work with www.kidsoncall.com. They are the host for this website and kidsoncall.com also offers a variety of services that help make my office run smoother. For example, they process our non-OHIP billings and will, hopefully, in the future, be able to make online scheduling even easier. For now, however, we are still booking as always through our helpful Nurses at the front desk.

LOCAL RESOURCES

The following is a list of local health care professionals and other frequently requested links. These contacts are listed in no particular order - there is no "preference" implied here. I do not receive any compensation for recommending these services.

Dr Fresco (Optometry) - 416-922-2020 at Yonge and St Clair

Dr Fresco, Dr Simon and their associates work with patients of all agrs but are particularly loved by their Pediatric (child) patients! They accept OHIP for your child's annual eye exam.

Dr Andrew Simone - 40 King George's Road - Etobicoke

https://drandrewsimone.wixsite.com/derm

Dr Simone runs a walk-in Dermatology clinic in Etobicoke. Whereas most other Dermatology options have a long wait list (possibly months), Dr Simone offers a same-day service. The catch is that you need to go to his office and line-up to wait. If you are there on-time, he will see you. His hours are "interesting", including a 4am session on Saturday! ** No referral necessary **

Dr Lisa Sheinin https://drlisasheinin.ca/

Dr Sheinin is a Psychiatrist (Medical Doctor) whose services are covered by OHIP. Her approach to child and adolescent mental wellness involves the whole family and, in my experience, is often very well received. ** Referral needed - please ask your Doctor **

Delisle Pharmacy - 416-922-5618 (1560 Yonge St #202)

Pierre is a very helpful Pharmacist and offers generic options so prices are always reasonable and he even offers a delivery service. The Pharmacy is at the top of the escalator at Delisle Court - park in the Green P and follow the signs to the plaza.
